It started with a feeling I just couldn’t shake off.
Every time I travelled by train 🚆 without a pantry, stood at an airport snack counter ✈️🍪, or walked into a hill-station shop stocked with the same old instant noodles 🏔️🍜, I felt it—this can’t be the best we have. Boring cereals 🥣, dry packaged food, zero excitement 😑, and nothing that truly matched our Indian taste buds 🌶️🇮🇳.
Life was moving fast ⚡, but my craving for good, wholesome, convenient food was growing even faster 💛.
While working in the field of malnutrition, I had a big realisation 💡. Everyone spoke about dietary diversity as the solution—but very few were actually doing something about it. The food world was busy chasing labels—high protein 💪, low carb 🥗, low calorie—while I was searching for balance, nourishment, and real joy in food 🍛✨.
So, I started experimenting.
I like to call it dating food 😉💕
I swiped right on meals that were tasty 😋, balanced ⚖️, made with wholesome ingredients 🌾, with no preservatives ❌, no added sugar ❌, and minimal processing. Not everything worked out. Some experiments failed 💔. Some went too hot and burnt me 🔥🙈. A few almost made me give up 😔. But every breakup taught me something—and brought me closer to what I truly wanted.
And then… I found my match 💚✨.
What followed was a long, passionate journey between me and my love for honest food 🫶. After months of nurturing, testing, refining (yes, more than nine! 🤱⏳), Steamy Amours was born—a name that holds all those warm, steamy moments spent figuring things out 💭🍲.
Steamy Amours is my dream on a plate 🍽️💫.
A promise to create ready-to-eat food that feels comforting, nourishing, and full of flavour, without shortcuts or compromises 🚫✨. And like any proud parent 👩🍳💞, I’m here to give it everything it needs to grow.

Schooling…Where did They Learn it From?
Believe it or not, it all started a long, long time ago ⏳!
Back in 1795, Nicolas Appert invented the magic of appertization—a way to preserve food in sealed containers 🥫✨. The very first “test run”? Napoleon’s Navy 🚢⚔️, who needed food that could survive long journeys while conquering the world!
Over time, brilliant minds like British Donkin, Chevalier Appert, and Louis Pasteur 🔬 added to this knowledge, turning a simple idea into a science.
Fast forward to the 1960s—the USA military and NASA 🚀🪐 were using this technology to feed soldiers and astronauts on missions where ordinary food just wouldn’t do.
What started as a “crash course” for explorers and heroes soon turned into a whole school of food processing 🍲🏫, creating new technologies and ready-to-eat products for everyday people like you and me!
And that’s how the journey from sealed cans to your ready-to-eat meals began 😋✨.

Ever wondered how astronauts eat in space? 🌌👩🚀
Sure, they have gels and dry snacks 🥤, but most of their meals are ready-to-eat, cooked using something called retort technology 🍲✨.
Here’s how it works:
The food—semi-cooked or fully cooked—is sealed in special retort pouches 🥡. Then it goes into giant pressure cookers 🔥💨, where the temperature and pressure kill all microorganisms, making it safe to eat for up to 24 months without refrigeration ❄️❌!
Back in the day, all food was packed in cans 🥫. But in the 1960s, NASA needed lightweight, easy-to-carry meals for their astronauts 🚀—and voilà, the retort pouch was born!
Today, the same technology helps bring safe, tasty, ready-to-eat meals from space… to your plate 😋🍽️.
